S AZ Alumni Club Scholarship

Our third Ohio State University Alumni Club of Southern Arizona Scholarship has been awarded to Amphitheater High School graduate Iyonna Zortman. Congratulations, Iyonna!

Iyonna intends to major in Animal Science at OSU beginning this fall. She plans to continue her education at a veterinary college and become a Wildlife Vet.

"I will love attending classes at OSU because it is widely known as a great university, with an equally great veterinary program," she said.

A January message from Iyonna:

"I've been doing very well in Ohio. I love it here! The winter weather is something I've had to adapt to, but I have enjoyed the snow, as well! I am praying Spring comes sooner than usual.

My classes are going very well. Last quarter, I took Psych 100, Math 148 and African History class, along with 2 survey classes. My GPA for Autumn Quarter was 3.3. I am crossing my fingers for a 4.0 this quarter! Currently, I am taking French 103.66, Math 150, and Classics 222, (a mythology class). I started with an Animal Science major, but the classes were not what I was expecting. Currently, my major is Zoology. I believe I will like it a lot better.
